Around The Shows 2006

We start the round up in the North West with Bolton le Sands show, the bronze medal was won by Andrew Weston from Bolton le Sands with 3 Ruskin Michelle, we move on to Storth village show this time Andrew Weston won best dahlia exhibit with 3 Rossendale Lottie. Next we take to trip to the seaside at Arnside show, this time it was Jack Gott from Milnthorpe that won silver and bronze medals with 3 Charlie Dimmock, 3 Lancresse.

Back inland to Milnthorpe show and Jack Gott won silver medal with 3 Myneddy a new small dec raised by Ken Stock from Bournmouth, bronze went to Andrew Weston with 3 Marsden Lilac.

The next day Ian Sutherland from Blackburn  came out of the wood work to take silver and bronze at the Chipping show, every one knows this show as (Little Harrogate Show). I am sorry but did not get the variety’s down.

Over to North Yorkshire to Ingleton show Dave Woodhouse from West Roebensdale won silver and bronze medals with 3 Kiwi Gloria, and 3 Hillcrest Kismot. Back over to the South Lakes to Kendal and Dave Woodhouse won silver medal with 3 Winhome Diane, 3 Ruskin Michelle, 3 Kiwi Gloria.

The Southport championship class was won by Barry Smith from Tarporley.

The North West Dahlia Soc show moved to a new venue at Lancaster. The silver medal was won by Barry Kenyon from Blackpool with 3 White Charlie Two, 3 Trelyn’s Kiwi, 3 Winholme Diane and 3 Mary’s Jomanda the bronze medal was won by Brian Warriner from Barrow in Furness with 3 Cream Moonlight, 3 Winholme Diane, 3 Kiwi Gloria, and Gurtlies Twilight.

Over to the Barrow in Furness show and Kenny Barker from Barrow won silver medal with 3 Kiwi Gloria. The Furness Dahlia Soc Show silver medal went to Brian Warriner with Rhonda Gurtlies Twilight and Pop Willo the bronze medal was won by Graham McFarland from Barrow with 3 Trelyn’s Kiwi.

 Just for the Record it was nice to see the North West lads taking some of the silver from down South Barry Kenyon winning the Championship class and best exhibit in show. Allan Barlow from Windermere winning the 12 vases of pom pons. Jimmy Heginbottom, 6 vases of small cactus he also won the 3 vases of cactus at Scotland and the 4 vases of cactus at Harrogate show, what an achievement, he also won the best vase in show at Scotland with Kiwi Gloria. Wendy Kenyon also pulled off the Treble at the national shows defending her Giant Semi Cactus Championship Titles. Brian Warriner won the championship class at Scotland he also won the best vase of pom pons.

Harrogate show the North West lads were runners up to the Monkland lads in the Arthur Luck championship class by a small amount of points, Brian Warriner won the individual championship class and best exhibit in show.
