A Trip To Merseyside For All Dahlia Society's
Was a day out that the Merseyside
Dahlia society had invited for us to be host to their hospitality,
and so it was. It was arranged that I pick up a twelve seat minibus so we go
down there as a society we managed to a good half dozen, so we spread our selves
out to make it look full “it worked” everybody had a double seat bar me I
was driving. Armed with my auto route destructions
arrived on Merseyside without a
hitch until we arrived at Liverpool ST, the wrong street. after a few
sweaty collars we finally arrived at the Seaforth club home of the Merseyside
club, we were greeted with open arms and smiling faces, Ivor Jones, Stuart
Clensy, Ron Rimmer, to mention a few. The meeting its self was a little bit
disappointing it warranted more support than what it got. It didn’t dampen our
spirits though, we througherly enjoyed ourselves, superb entertainment
throughout the day, a talk on Dahlias by Barry Smith was first class with
plenty of ideas to chew on, a quiz hosted by Dave Read, and of cause it
would not do to not mention the hospitality of the Merseyside ladies and
members for the spread they put on for us was truly out of this world. This
might sound like an old record, but if you missed this one you missed a treat, I
can go on and on about this day but I am running out of space, so all that
remains to be said from us The Northwestern Dahlia Society is Thank You Merseyside
for a smashing day out you done us proud.
Jimmy Jones.
