North West Members Do Well At Harrogate

Harrogate this year despite the fuel crisis was well attended by northwest members,

Richard Musgrave, coming 3rd in class 38: with a Giant semi Cactus bloom.

Digger Fishwick, picked up e few cards in the novice section, 3 first’s 1 second, 1 3rd, in classes 70 69 67 66 65 . It’s with the big boys next year for you my lad!

Graham MacFarlane, came second in the Small decorative “Special class” and coming second to 
Bob Metters in the two distinct varieties of Medium Decorative class.

Ian Greenhalgh, came a creditable third in the “A K Grayson” challenge cup also picking up a first prize for two vases of Waterlily Dahlias, well done Ian.

Andy Jamieson, 57 2nd Waterlily, 49 1st prize for his miniature cactus of which I think he’ll be over the moon with this result, Andy has a special goals for this class, he also played an active part along with Ian Greenhalgh in the Timperley 6x4 millennium display class to which they came 2nd, a bit of friendly banter was brandished I do believe.

Alan Barlow, of Windermere picking up a third prize card in the “Norman Williams challenge cup” with his pompons, a 3rd for a vase of small cactus, plus a 2nd and a 3rd with a multi exhibit of a set of nine pompons.

Jack Gott, came 3rd to Ron Rimmer in the “Alan Dunlop trophy” displaying 3 vases of miniature decorative's, including his own sport Jakes coronet, also picking up three 3rds for small ball, pompons and water lilies. 2 2nds for collerettes and a bowl of dahlias, plus 2 first prize cards in the basket 
and Bi colour classes. Brother Bill Gott got a 3rd for his collerette's.

Phil Nuttall, 1st prize cards with his medium and miniature decorative, a 3rd for large semi cactus, and 2nd in a special class of 3 classification of dahlias, well done Phil.

Jimmy Heginbottom, came 2nd to Jack Gott in the basket class in this highly competitive class. 
Jimmy along with Jack Gott played a big part in setting up the millennium class that the northwest
 won this year .

Martin Ivison, won silver coming 1st in the 6 Giant decorative class, also picking up another 1st for a single Giant semi cactus bloom. Roy Barlow, won silver by coming 1st in the “A K Grayson trophy” class, plus another 1st in the special class for 6 distinct varieties of small cactus.

Don Mosley collected a silver card winning the “T W Mawson cup” with 12 Giant decorative dahlias, he also won 2nd best Giant bloom in show with a handsome Mark Hardwick, Giant decorative and came in with another second with 6 Giant decorative blooms.

Alan Barlow came 3rd in the “Norman Williams challenge cup” with 6 varieties of pompons, competing with some of the best i.e. Stewart Clensy  and Barry Smith who got best in show.

Ron Rimmer won silver in the “Alan Dunlop memorial trophy” requiring 3 sets of 5 miniature decorative dahlias, well done Ron.

Infact well done to all that got there under unfavorable conditions, and to all collecting prize cards in good company, Thank you all very much for your support at Harrogate
